The Teacher

A method shaped by two worlds

Where flute meets voice, teaching becomes an art

The Method

Two disciplines, one vision

The combination of flute and voice is more than a coincidence of training: it forms the basis of a teaching approach in which breath — shared by both disciplines — becomes the connecting thread of every lesson.

Flute

Instrumental technique, posture, diaphragmatic breathing, phrasing and repertoire from the Baroque to the present day.

Voice

Vocal technique, breath support, diction, interpretation and the study of operatic and concert repertoire.

The Synthesis

Breath as the foundation: knowledge of the flute informs vocal production and vice versa, creating a method that enriches both disciplines.

My Students' Voices

Reviews & Feedback

My greatest satisfaction is seeing students grow as musicians and achieve goals that once seemed out of reach. Here is what they say about working with me.

“Luca Sozio is a wonderful flutist and opera singer. He teaches with passion and recognises the talent of everyone who studies with him, regardless of age. He creates harmony between knowing, feeling and understanding music. His patience, determination and expertise are undeniable. There are many music teachers, but few who leave a lasting mark on your life.”

Susanna Lipari

Flute student

“I met Luca years ago, when I decided I wanted to learn this wonderful instrument. My love of music encouraged me to take the plunge, and Luca has nurtured that passion ever since. He is a talented, dedicated, attentive and knowledgeable teacher who cares for every aspect of a student's development. After every lesson I feel enriched in technique, expression and musical understanding.”

Stefania Lotto

Flute student

“Luca is attentive, passionate and exceptionally well prepared. Before studying with him, I had already been singing for twenty years with technical difficulties I had never overcome. In just over a year, the progress I made was unexpected and astonishing. He keeps you grounded when necessary without ever discouraging you, and helps you recognise strengths and improvements you may not see yourself.”

Michele Cicala

Voice student

“Luca has been my voice teacher for many years and, over time, has also become a mentor, a role model and a friend. Since I began studying with him, my passion for music has continued to grow. Luca passed that passion on to me and helped me develop both as a singer and as a person.”

Barbara Giacomelli

Voice student

“As well as being an excellent musician, Luca is an excellent teacher. He adapts to each student with great empathy and knows how to bring out every strength. His technique is remarkable, and each lesson teaches you a great deal — always in the right way. He is the perfect teacher for anyone who wants to grow, regardless of the age at which they begin.”

Gioia Cipolat

Voice student

“An exceptionally knowledgeable flute teacher, but above all empathetic and inspiring. My daughter was only seven when she began, and he helped her combine learning and play in a way that made her passionate about music. From the start, he encouraged her to perform in public both as a soloist and in ensembles. He later prepared her for several competitions, where she also won first prize. Highly recommended!”
