Vocal Profile
Born in 1990, Luca Sozio earned a diploma in Voice from the Trento Conservatory and a Master's-level Academic Diploma in Flute from the Padua Conservatory. He pursued advanced training at the AMO Academy of Teatro Coccia in Novara, the Belcanto Academy in Trento and the Durres Opera Academy, and currently continues his training under Nadiya Petrenko. He has also furthered his studies with Paoletta Marrocu, Maurizio Leoni, Elisabetta Scano, Nelly Miricioiu and Vito Maria Brunetti. In 2024 he was selected as a Richard Wagner Foundation scholarship recipient and received a Special Prize at the Vano Visioli International Opera Competition. He was also a finalist at the 1st Bonisolli International Competition and the 20th Luigi Zanuccoli International Competition.
He regularly performs sacred, symphonic and operatic repertoire at festivals and institutions in Italy and abroad.
His operatic roles include Timur in Turandot at Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome for EuropaInCanto. He made his debut as Doctor Grenvil in La traviata at Teatro Coccia in Novara, and performed Charon and Pluto in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo on a ten-performance tour of Greece and the Czech Republic. His repertoire also includes Colline in La bohème, the Commendatore in Don Giovanni and Jacopo in La notte di San Silvestro.
As a solo bass in symphonic and sacred repertoire, he has performed masterpieces including Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Rossini's Stabat Mater.
